See ya later, Summer || Personal

As I'm packing my life up and getting ready to head to Chicago, a new chapter, college...tomorrow. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on summer. Saying goodbye to the beach, tan skin, smoothies, making breakfast in the morning, lazy days, late nights, starry skies & all that is good. I love summer. I belong at the beach with salty hair and sandy skin. But I'm excited for this chapter of life. I have to pinch myself because I just can't believe where the Lord has me going. School will be my number one priority with lots of exploring. I won't be photographing as much or blogging as much, but I'll still be here!

Elin || Newborn

Back in May, I photographed Kristin just before baby girl was about to come...and now Elin is here! Elin was born on June 13 and is the most precious little bundle of joy. 

Love this family of three so very much. Elin is already one talented model. 

What's coming? || Personal

Over the last year, a lot has changed.

I'm moving to Chicago in less than two weeks [ahhhh!!] and starting to study the Bible and counseling at Moody Bible Institute. I am beyond  excited...mixed with a little nervousness. This is a big, new chapter of life and it's been a long time coming. I never would have thought that the Lord would bring me here, but looking back, it is SO clear! 

Photography will always be a part of my life and I will always pursue to make beautiful images for beautiful people. But, my homework won't include photo shoots or color correcting anymore. My homework will include a lot more papers and studying. That being said, I will have a lot less time to focus on photography. As sad as this is, it's a new chapter of my life! 

This doesn't mean that I'm "quitting" or "taking a hiatus" by any means. It's just going to a bit of an adventure ;) I will be booking sporadically throughout the fall and winter [woohoo!] & I'm so excited to see where this takes us.

John & Colleen || Chicago, IL Wedding

When I first met John & Colleen, I knew their wedding would be awesome. They are just cool people. They love coffee, hiking, biking & music. They have matching tattoos of all the mountains they've climbed together in binary coding and he proposed on a mountain. How amazing? The days leading up to their wedding, I was so excited! But...to my surprise, one of my nightmares came true. The day before, I ended up breaking my ankle and I was unable to shoot their wedding. But I am so incredibly blessed by my amazing second shooter and his assistant. They covered this one for me. Steve & Stephen are true life savers! They did a phenomenal job documenting John & Colleen's wedding.

John & Colleen, thanks for being awesome. Steve & Stephen, thanks for being life savers.
