Spring has sprung

This winter was colder than most. This winter was snowy for far too long. This winter is GONE. Praises and joy and dancing! I have been waiting for spring for oh, so long. & it is finally here. I've had plenty of days stuck inside, day-dreaming about fresh grass, blossoming flowers and spring adventures. Here are some goals/thoughts/ponderings/possibilities for spring:

& of course who could forget more coffee dates & less work, book senior sessions and roll out the senior 2013/2014 search, and drink more natural juice! I love spring. Spring is definitely my favorite season. It is the first sight of new life, green grass, blossoming flowers and sunshine. The sun is finally back! After terrible winters in Chicago, Spring is so refreshing.

Share your spring dreams with me below in the comments :)

Love & of course happy spring,
Alison

March in Instagrams || Personal

Is March already over? My goodness, this month was busy. So many photos, projects, memories...so much so that I barely blogged! March was abnormally [and sadly] very snowy. But with March over, I'm that much closer to moving to Chicago [less than 5 months to be exact!] and we are closer to the exciting news for high school seniors! I'm really thrilled to be announcing a program for you seniors very, very soon.

Anyway, let's get on with this month in Instagrams!
March
DIY projects that bring me joy. *hoping* to do something creative everyday. Amazing sunsets on the drive home from work. Homemade pancakes on a snow day in March. Photographing a snowy garden. Seek the Lord with all your heart. Hoop nose ring. Sunflowers on the bedside table. Kinfolk & cinnamon toast in the morning. Joy in the courts of the Lord. Besties 21st birthday! (so of course I made her 5 different kinds of brownies) Going to smell flowers because I am longing for spring. Ellie turned 1 so I got her a birthday bone...DUH! Impromptu trips to the city. Best lattes & chai's ever. Crazy beautiful sunset peaking through all the skyscrapers. Good Friday & Easter (my fav holidays). In awe. Grateful. Joy.

March was good to me. How was your March?

Love,
Alison

Clipboard Art & Display || DIY 2013

I consider myself a fairly organized person. I don't like being late to things (but sometimes I am) and I do my best to keep a planner (but most of the time I don't.) So in an attempt to be even more organized I made this Clipboard display and little organizing system. I love looking at these pretty things on my wall. I like to put sweet memories, pretty pictures and current projects up so I can be reminded of all the good stuff. These babies are functional for anyone and anything. This clipboard display is ideal for posting recipes, good memories, sweet cards, favorite pictures...anything.
What you need:
Clipboards
Spray Paint
Chalkboard Paint
Paint Brushes
Foil (to cover clips while painting)
Lace (or any other "stencil" for a pattern)
Cute, easy, affordable. Love them. Make some and tweet me a picture or Instagram them using the hashtag #13diysfor2013. Happy DIY-ing!

Love,
Alison

February in Instagrams

The 28-day month...obviously this month went by insanely quick. February was full of too much snow and not enough sunshine. Not gonna lie, I'm so done with winter. But with the snow behind and spring ahead, I'm ready for March!

How was your February? What are you most excited about in March?

Love,
Alison

Winter Wilderness Weekend || Personal

I used to think I loved the winter...but I don't. I love Spring. I love all things becoming new again. I love new life. I love plants and flowers and green grass. I'm not a fan of beige-land. But, it was kind of nice having an excuse to be tucked away with two feet of snow in the woods. Another weekend in the wilderness and some much needed down-time. (Prepare yourself for some majorly cute pictures of Ellie)

When all I could hear was the sound of the snow crunching beneath my feet and the pitter patter of my heartbeat.
When I woke up and there was actually some coffee for me to drink.
When I had a clear mind to paint after not painting for months.
When I read through Psalm 118 & 119 and was brought to tears.
When I got lost in the woods with Ellie as she hopped through the snow.
When I wrote a letter that was 10 pages long.
When the blankets of snow are illuminated by the moonlight and I can hear an owl hooting in the pine trees.
When the fire light is bright and our eyes are tired.

& yes I realize I am in love with my dog.

Have a splendid weekend
Love,
Alison
